The Branch has run its first two day cattle training weekend recently – at the well appointed Tutukau Lodge in Taupo. Around 15 people attended the two days, 10 riding participants.
The weekend consisted of learning new exercises for horses in preparation for working a cow along the fence. As well, all riders took their horses through their paces with a mechanical cow.
There were a variety of things to do for the riders, which made the two days very interesting including the opportunity to move cattle from one property to another and to go on a short bush ride.
